Biography

William G. Logan, son of Ed and Margie (Swinford) Logan, was born about 6 Nov. 1899 in Tennessee. He appeared on the census of 2 June 1900 in the home of his mother and grandparents at McMinn County, Tennessee.[1] He was a machinist at a cottom mill when appeared on the census of 17 Jan. 1920 in the home of his mother and grandparents at Dalton, Whitfield County, Georgia. He was using the name Dalton, a stepfather.[2] Starting about 1915 William changed his name and began using Robert Lee Swinford. He listed his grandfather as nearest relative when he registered for the draft in 1918, he used the name Robert Lee Swinford and signed his name with an "X".[3]

He married Ida Virginia Weeks, daughter of William and Ada Weeks, about 1925.[4]

He was a laborer at a saw mill when he and Ida appeared on the census of 9 April 1930 at Gray, Pulaski County, Arkansas.[5]

Robert died in Feb. 1983, probably in Pulaski County, Arkansas.[6]
