Biography

Residence 1871

Census of Newcastle, Northumberland, New Brunswick. Finley Loggie, 18, born in New Brunswick. Living in the household of his (widowed) mother Mary; and several brothers[1]: William (20), John (16), and Peter (14).

Death

We regret to learn that Finlay Loggie joiner of Chatham (North. Co.) who has resided in New York for about a year past died in that city of fever. J.U. Loggie, brother of the deceased, proceded to New York and returned here with the remains on Saturday last which were interred in the burial ground at Burnt Church on Monday. The deceased was a s/o Geo. Loggie, Lower Newcastle and about 27 years of age[2].

The death of Finlay M. LOGGIE in New York is announced. He lleft Chatham (North. Co.) about a year ago to find employment in the United States. The remains left New York for Chatham yesterday morn. accompanied by J.U. LOGGIE who we are informed was with the deceased when he died. - 'Miramichi Advance'[3]
