Biography

Isabella was born in 1900.

She is the adopted daughter of James Simpson and Annie Geddie.


Her mother is Maggie Gill Logie, who was not married, and who gave her occupation on Bella's birth record as domestic servant. The 1901 census, a year after Bella was born, shows the Logie family living at the house where Bella was born. Maggie Gill's mother, Margaret Gill Logie, is a widow, 73 years old and still working as a sick nurse.
