Biography

James Love was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

Birth

James was born in 1857 in Hamilton Victoria. Parents Daniel Love and Susannah (Woolner) Love, Both parents were fairly 'aged' by the time he was born (for the time frame in which they lived). ^[1] James remained an only child, with his mother dying when he was eleven years old. Daniel (his father never remarried).

Marriages

James married twice: His first marriage was to Mary Ann Collins in Victoria in 1882.^[2] The couple had five children together:
John Love (1883-1976)
Ada Winifred (Love) Winfield (1886-1922)
Frank Love (1888-1969)
Lewis James Love (1890-1960)
Ruby May (Love) Collins (1893-1981)

Mary passed away in 1895 and James married Lavinia (Sharam) Love (1878-1965) in Victoria in 1900. ^[3] They had a further seven children together. Two of their children Ivan Love (1902-1902) and Hazel Love (1911-1911) died in infancy. James fathered 11 children to reach maturity and live long lives.

Throughout his adult life he lived in Horsham and Nhill (both towns in Victoria),

He passed away in September 1945, aged 88,^[4]
