Children

The 1911 census shows that William had two children which died in infancy. The Lovedays’ eldest child died at the age of two from peritonitis complications – an abdominal inflammation usually caused by infection. A few months later, the Lovedays’ second child died aged eight months from “teething”. It seems likely that both Loveday deaths were caused by poor sanitation.
