Note N2Albert H. Lovett died on 7 Dec 1886 while working as a carpenter in a rail road shop. 1

The first to aid him was William Feigley (Private in Company F of the 17th OVI) and his shop foreman William H. Walker. Both submitted sworn affidavit's to aid in the widow's pension request by his second wife Emma A. Crook. A fellow private who enlisted with Albert in Company I, named Daniel Camp, submitted an affidavit stating that he and Albert were both sent to the Columbia General Hospital in Washington DC in the latter part of November 1963. Camp indicated that Albert was a "sound able-bodied man" at the time of thier enlistment, but had become afflicted with a severe case of "Rheumatism" in his right hip and was not able to return to the regiment. 1

On the 6th of July 1886 Albert had applied for 3/4 pension claiming he contracted Rheumatism - claiming that he suffered a "frosted foot". 1
