Biography
There is a clandestine marriage record dated 7Sep1732 at Fleet Prison between William Arterbury, Mariner, of Christ Church Parish and Elizabeth Good [aka Gould], widow. This is believed to have been the 2nd marriage of William, the immigrant. Elizabeth Gould was the widow of Ralph Gould, journeyman member of the Company of Watermen. William Arterbury was almost 23 years younger than Elizabeth Gould, and very likely already married to Susannah Shrimpton.
