Harry was born in 1895. He was the son of Eli Lower and Mary Welday. He passed away in 1918. From his mother's 1920 obituary: "Harry, serving over-seas in the American army during the terrible world war, and during the fierce battle waged in the Argonne forest, France, he paid the supreme sacrifice by pouring out his lifeblood as a libation upon the alter of his country in order that liberty, freedom and democracy might be made safe for the oppressed people of many lands and distant climes and that the Stars and Stripes, the glorious banner of freedom and proud emblem of liberty, might forever float over the rock and rills and native sun-kissed hills of the noble land of the free and the home of the brave."
