Biography
John was born about 1843 in County Londonderry. [1]
As of 1872 he was a butler living at Killymoon; son of John Lowry, farmer.
On 27 April 1872 at Orritor Presbyterian, he married Eliza McCord of Killymoon, daughter of James McCord, farmer. Witnessed by Robert Ford and Robert Lowry. [2] [3]
He was a grocer. [4]
In 1911 John Lowry 68, was living with his wife Eliza 74, in Drumshambo Glebe, with a cousin Richard John McFarnane (transcribed as McFarnard), 13, a general servant. John and Eliza had been married 40 years.[5]
He passed away 10 September 1930 at his residence, Drumshanbo. During his illness he was attended by his cousins Mr & Mrs A. McFarland. The chief mourners were: [6]
