Biography
Jacob Lude was born on July 19, 1862, in Monroe Couny, Ohio. He was the son of John and Ann (Rabel) Lude. He married Emma Lorena Wichterman on October 9, 1888, in Monroe County. They were farmers and had six children during their marriage. He died on January 25, 1923, in Clarington, Ohio, at the age of 60, and was buried there.

Jacob Lude, a very highly respected citizen, died suddenly at his home on Route 3 Clarington, Ohio, January 25, 1923.
He was stricken with paralysis on August 2, 1922, and had been almost helpless since that time. While his death was not entirely expected it came as a shock to the entire community.
He was born July 19, 1862, being at the time of his death 60 years 6 months and 6 days old.
He united with the Evangelical Luthern church in his sixteenth year, and was a consistent member until his death.
He was married to Emma Wichterman, October 9, 1888.
He is survived by his widow and the following children: Adda M., Albert L., and Edwin Lude, Mrs. Earl Burkhalter, Mrs. Andrew Foshey, and Mrs. Wesley Dierkes. Also four granddaughters, two brothers, Michael of Sardis and C. W. of Ravenna, and one sister, Mrs. Agnes Coulter of Pittsburgh, and a host of other relatives and friends.
His eldest brother, Chris, preceded him in death January 1, 1923.
The funeral was held Sunday forenoon. Interment in the St. James cemetery. Rev. A. E. Kitterer of Powhatan conducted the services.
