Henry was son and heir of Edmund Ludlow, Knt. Edmund was a prosperous country gentleman with extensive estates in Hampshire and Wiltshire.[1][2]
Marriage
Henry married Lettice West on 27 Aug. 1600. In 1601 Edmund conveyed the manors of Tadley and Sherborne St. John, Hampshire, to Henry shortly after the latter's marriage.[3]

The post mortem return for Henry's father, Edmund Ludlow, (Source 2 above) gives Henry' s age as 40 years. whilst, in fact, he would have been around 48 years old. (Contributed by Michael Fraser-Allen)
