↑ Source:#S497 "Deaths," 3 Jan 1994. Alta Mae Armstrong was born Septembert 17,1903 in Marlow, Oklahoma, the daughter of Frank and Hattie (Vance) Luttrell. She attended school in Kiowa, Oklahoma. Alta Luttrell married J.T. Armsgtrong on May 16, 1930, in Sayre, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death in 1972. Mrs. Armstrong and her husband, J.T. owned and operated Armstrong Welding for many years in Elk City; she was a member of the Elk City United Methodist Church and belonged to the United Methodist Women for 30 years. Mrs. Armsttrong's hobbies were cooking and flower gathering. She is survived by five children, Ocie Bacon and Otas Bacon of Oklahoma City, Erma Garling of Phoenix, Arizona, Warren Armstrong of Oklahoma City and J.W. Armstrong of Edmond, Oklahoma; seventeen grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Luttrell of Pueblo, Colorado; three sisters-in-law, Loretta, Isabell and Jessie Luttrell of Pueblo, Colorado; one brother-in-law, Walter Armstrong of Elk City and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.T. Armstrong; one daughter, Deloye, and gread great grandson Robert (?) Giddens, four brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church on Tuesday, January 4, 1994, with graveside services following at Fairlawn Cemetery, directed by Savage-Whinery Funeral Home.

Armstrong, 701 N Elk, who died Saturday, Jan 5th in the Community Hospital at the age of 67, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan 7th, in the Savage Funeral Home chapel with Rev Jack Atkinson officiating. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Mr. Armstrong was born Aug. 6, 1906, in Hammon. He was owner of Armsgtrong Welding Supply and a retired rancher. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Alta Luttrell Armstrong of the home, 4 sons, J.W. Armstrong of Oklahoma City and Warren Armstrong of Oklahoma City, Ocie Bacon and Otis Bacon, both of Phoenix Ariz; 1 daughter, Erma Garling, also of Phoenix; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Walter Armstrong of Elk City, and 1 sister, Mrs. S.C. Spitzer of Cheyenne.
↑ Source:#S675 "Hattie Luttrell Obituary," 8 Jun 1967. A pioneer resident has passed away. Word has been received that Mrs. W.F. (Hattie) Luttrell passed away at a nursing home in Pueblo, Colorado and was buried Monday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Luttrell moved to this vicinity about 1904. He bought the McBride place and later bought the Larne store and post office. They bought the farm now owned by R.D. Burrows and lived there until they moved to Colorado over 30 years ago. Their daughters, Mrs. W.B. Armstrong, and Mrs. J.T. Armstrong, and son Clifford, live at Elk City. Hervie lives at Cheyenne. Others live in Colorado. All nine children are living. The family will long be remembered.
