John Lye was born in Chirton in about 1776. (based on age at death)

He married Susannah Maslin in North Newnton, Wiltshire on 14 August 1802, it was noted in the register that John was a blacksmith ^[1]

John passed away in Chirton in 1861, he was 85 years old. ^[2]. He was buried in Chirton on 30 August 1861. ^[3]
