Jack married Caroline Anita
He was the father of John P. MacDonald, Jr.
He resided in Coos County, New Hampshire prior to the war.
John served as a Coxswain, USS Ticonderoga (CV-14), U.S. Navy during World War II.
On January 21, 1945, John was declared "Missing In Action" when the Ticonderoga was hit by a Japanese kamikaze in the South China Sea during the war.
He was awarded the Purple Heart.
