Biography
William was born about 1816 in Scotland. He emigrated to Canada and lived in Woodstock, Ontario, where he was a merchant.[1] He married Elizabeth Orr; they had children.[2] He was a widower in the Census of 1861.[3]
His second marriage was to Jane Mackenzie in 1865. In the marriage document he gave his parents' names as Philip MacLeod and Grace Ross.[4]
He died in 1894.[5]
