Alexander Macdonald was born in Scotland.

Alexander was born about 1883.

Alexander joined the Royal Navy on 29 August 1909. His service number was M1214. His date of birth was recorded as 13 August 1883 in Inverness. [1] The record confirms he was serving on HMS Diadem in 1915 at the time of his marriage.

Alexander (age 31), son of Alexander MacDonald, married Edith Edna Austen (age 26) on 25 June 1915 in Portsea, Hampshire, England.[2] [3]
He was invalided out of the Royal Navy on 21 May 1921 with Pulmonary Tuberculosis, and awarded a pension, [4] however he died in 1923, age 40.
Death Notice: Portsmouth Evening News - Saturday 13 October 1923. " On the 12, at 32 Worthing Road, Alexander MacDonald R.N., the dearly beloved husband of Edna MacDonald. At rest after long suffering patiently borne." [5] [6]
