Robert Mackley was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)
Robert George Mackley was born 12th December 1887, his birth registered the following year in Ascot Vale, Victoria, Australia. [1]
Draft, U.S.A. On 5th June 1917, Robert was a 29-year-old Steward (Boat) when he registered for the Draft, in Precinct 35, New York, New York State, United States. He lived in New York and worked from Pier #9, North River. He said he was a citizen of England, but he was a British citizen as were all Australian-born persons those days. He gave the generic Melbourne as his birthplace. His status in New York wasn't clarified beyond him being a 'Declarant'. White, and single, Robert was described as medium height, slim build, gray eyes, and light hair. He had no disabilities. He applied for exemption from service because five members of his family were already serving. [2]
Death. Robert died in 1933.
