Biography

• Walter was born in 1860. He was the son of Richard Maddern and Phillipa Wellington. ^[1].
• 1889, 28 August:- Marriage in the District of Waratah; Walter Wellington MADDERN; Full Age; Tin-dresser; Bachelor; and Elizabeth Emma FORD; Full Age; Spinster; Married in the Parish Church of St. James, Waratah, according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Church of England, by License, by me, S H Hughes, Minister. This Marriage was solemnized between us, Walter Wellington Maddern and Elizabeth Emma Ford, in the presence of us, John Ford, E. Jane Maddern, and E. Quinton. (All the names/signatures appear to be in the same handwriting as that of the Minister)
• He passed away in 1944 ^[2].
• 1944:- DEATHS. MADDERN.- On May 5 (suddenly), at the Community Hospital, Wangaratta, Walter Wellington, beloved husband of Elizabeth, father of Emma, Olive, Bert, Richard, William, George, and Rupert. aged 83 years.
