1889, 28 August:- Marriage in the District of Waratah; Walter Wellington MADDERN; Full Age; Tin-dresser; Bachelor; and Elizabeth Emma FORD; Full Age; Spinster; Married in the Parish Church of St. James, Waratah, according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Church of England, by License, by me, S H Hughes, Minister. This Marriage was solemnized between us, Walter Wellington Maddern and Elizabeth Emma Ford, in the presence of us, John Ford, E. Jane Maddern, and E. Quinton. (All the names/signatures appear to be in the same handwriting as that of the Minister)
1944:- DEATHS. MADDERN.- On May 5 (suddenly), at the Community Hospital, Wangaratta, Walter Wellington, beloved husband of Elizabeth, father of Emma, Olive, Bert, Richard, William, George, and Rupert. aged 83 years.

Birkin), Olive (Mrs. Wilson), Albert, Richard, William, George, and Rupert. MADDERN.- In loving memory of our dearly loved father and grandfather, Walter Wellington, who passed away in Wangaratta Hospital on May 5, late of Orbost and Leongatha.
