Thomas Maddock was born in Chester, Cheshire, England.

Thomas Maddock was baptised on March 28, 1643 at St John the Baptist in Chester, Cheshire^[1]. His father was John Maddocke (~1623 - ).

Thomas married Alice Bennett (1637 - ) by licence on September 29, 1675 at Holy Trinity Church in Chester^[2][3].

Their son was Peter Maddock (1676 - ).

Thomas died in 1678 aged ~35^[4].

Research notes

Something isn't right here. The book of Bidston transcriptions states the following:

On the 28th January 1678 (o.s.) an Inventory was exhibited of the goods of Thomas Maddock of Saughall-Massey, valued by Arthur Godwin and John Rathbone at £98 2s. 0d.; and at the same time, custody of the two children, Peter Maddock aged 10 years and Anne Maddock aged 8 years was granted to Alice widow and relict of the late Thomas Maddock.

The children's names seem right, and his spouse Alice. But the kids ages don't tie in. Was the death year later than 1678? Or was there another couple with the same names? Salisbury-2431 03:28, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
