Biography

Franklin Democrat, Friday, February 5, 1886, page 1, Emma, wife of Bennett Jacobs, of this city died yesterday morning. She was a most estimable lady and her death saddens the hearts of many friends as well as a host of relatives. She leaves two children one only about ten days old, and a devoted husband to mourn her loss. The funeral takes place from the family residence this afternoon at 1 o'clock. Services by Elder S. F. Fowler.

Franklin Democrat, Friday, February 12, 1886, page 5, column 5 The funeral services of Mrs. Emma Jacobs took place from the residence last Friday afternoon, conducted by Elder Fowler. A very large crowd of sympathizing friends was in attendance.

Franklin Jeffersonian, Thursday, February 11, 1886, page 1 Bennett Jacobs desires to express his thanks to the many kind friends whose sympathies and assistance were so generously tendered during the sickness and death of his wife. Mrs. Emma Jacobs died of puerperal fever last Thursday morning at 7:30 after a brief illness. Her maiden name was Maddock and she was born in Hartford, Iowa, Feb 4th, 1859. She was married to Bennett Jacobs Sept. 14th, 1880. She leaves a husband and two boys, one an infant – who have the sympathy of all. The funeral was conducted at the residence on Friday by Elder Fowler.
