Edgar Freeman was born in 1923. He was the son of Elmer Lester Maddox and Madeline Brewer. He passed away in 1991. His wife Tressie McKenzie died in 2005.
HALLOWELL -- Tressie M. Maddox, 88, of Hallowell died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Glenridge in Augusta.
She was born in Danforth on Jan. 9, 1917, the daughter of Robert and Daisy Mae (Anderson) Mackenzie. Tressie worked for 25 years as a stitcher at Hallowell Shoe. She was a 4-H leader in Hallowell, was past noble grand of the Granite City Rebekah Lodge and taught Sunday school and Bible school in Kingman at one time. Tressie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hallowell.
Tressie cared for many of her nieces and nephews over the years. She was a kind person who always had a good word for everyone. She loved people and they loved her in return.
Mrs. Maddox was predeceased by her husband, Edgar F. Maddox Sr., and two brothers, Ray and Percy Mackenzie.
She is survived by her son, Ed Maddox Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Windsor; a brother, Arnold Mackenzie of Augusta; a sister, Rebecca Betty Proctor of Augusta; four grandchildren, Jenny and Jason Maddox and Robert and Andrew McMullen; several nieces and nephews in Maine, Pennsylvania and other states and her beloved dog, Misty.
