Biography
When Katharina Christina Maerz was born on 30 September 1830, in Furtwangen, Triberg, Baden, Germany, her father, Johann Ludwig Maerz, was 30 and her mother, Eva Margaretha Sambel, was 21. She married Joseph W. Brechler in 1851, in Daisbach, Untertaunuskreis, Hesse-Nassau, Prussia, Germany. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 3 daughters. She lived in Marion, Grant, Wisconsin, United States for about 35 years. She died on 15 October 1912, in United States, at the age of 82, and was buried in Brechler Cemetery, Woodman, Grant, Wisconsin, United States.
