Biography

Sir William Mainwaring, son of Roger Mainwaring, received Over Peover (pronounced Pee-ver) as a gift from his father during the reign of King Henry III, as it appears in a charter transcribed by Sir Thomas Mainwaring in 1666. His spouse is unknown.[1]

He had five sons: William, Thomas, Benedict, Guy and Roger.
