Biography
Thomas Maisterson was born about 1495.[1] He was an armiger.
Thomas Maisterson was the son of Thomas Maisterson and his wife Agnes, the daughter of — of Jodrell, esq, co Derby[1][2]
Thomas had siblings:
Ellen, who was married to Roger Chetwood of Oakley.[1]
When Thomas was 18 years old, he and his father participated in the battle of Flodden on 9 September, 1513, his father died there and Thomas was taken prisoner.[1]
Thomas married Margaret, the daughter and co-heir of Roger Mainwaring, Escheator of Cheshire, and his wife Margaret, the daughter of Thomas Masterson in Nantwich.[2]
Thomas and Margaret had children:
Roger, living in 1566,[2] heir, who married Elizabeth, the daughter of Gilbert Walthall in Nantwich;[1]
Sir Thomas[2] Maisterson, kt, who married Cicely, the daughter of — Clere of Kilkenny;[1]
Richard, an army captain, died in battle in Ireland;[1]
John[2] married Bridget, the daughter of William Bromely of Dorfold;[1]
Nicholas,[2] who married Bridget, the daughter of William Clayton;[1]
Henry,[2] who married Eustace, the daughter of — Clere of Kilkenny;[1]
Margaret, the wife of Roger Walthall[2] of Nantwich;[1]
Anne, who was married to Richard Hassall[2] of Nantwich;[1]
Margery, who was married to Thomas Wetenhall[2] of Nantwich;[1]
Elizabeth who was married to Richard Wilbraham of Nantwich,[1] or Elenor;[2]
Thomas Masterson died on 20 October, 4 Edward VI,[1] 1550.
His wife, Margaret, outlived him, dying on 10 September, 1561.[1]
