Biography
Mary Valetta was born in 1915 in Port Malcolm, Nova Scotia, the daughter of Mary Ora Primrose Malcolm. She was adopted by Ora's father, Mary Valetta's grandfather, Alexander. The 1921 Census shows her living in the household of her grandfather, as is her mother. In 1931 her uncle Leonard is named as head of household, with her grandfather and step grandmother also in the household. She married Wallace Malcolm in 1936 in Lower River Inhabitants, Richmond, Nova Scotia. The marriage registration notes that she is the adopted daughter of Alex Malcolm and that her mother's name is Ora Primrose. She died in 2002 and is buried in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery, Lower River Inhabitants.
