Larkin Henry Manes junior was born on 24 March 1843 in Cleveland, Bradley, Tennessee. He was the sixth of nine children of Larkin Manes senior and Elender T Nelly Sample Manes. Larkin was a Civil War soldier[1] out of Arkansas 2nd Cavalry.
On 09 July 1868 Larkin married Henrietta Josephine Chenoweth in Madison, Arkansas. Between 1870 and 1888 Henrietta gave birth to their four children. The 1880 census[2] shows Larkin farming and raisind his family in Tarrant County, Texas. The 1910 census[3] shows Larkin and Henrietta are now living in Dallas, Texas on his own income. The 1920 census[4] shows Larkin living with his family and his daughter Willie is working as a stenographer.
