Frederick William Manners was born in Stranton on 19 January 1870 and was the second son of George Manners and Mary Sharp.[1]
On the 1871 census, Frederick is living on Church Rowe, Stranton, with his parents and siblings.[2] On the 1881 census, Frederick is living at 79 Stranton, Stranton, with his parents and siblings.[3]
Frederick married Martha Jane Peel on 21 April 1889 and they had six children.[4]
On the 1891 census, Frederick and Martha are living at 32 Ouston St, Stranton, with their children. Frederick is working as a railway van driver.[5] On the 1901 census, Frederick and Martha are living at 6 Brunton St, Stranton, with their children. Frederick is working as a cartman.[6]
On the 1911 census, Frederick and Martha are living at 51 Southburn Terrace, West Hartlepool, with their children. Frederick is working as a trolleyman.[7] On the 1921 census, Frederick and Martha are still living at 51, Southburn Terrace, West Hartlepool, with their children. Frederick is working as an assurance agent for Ripeye Assurance Company Limited, Manchester, and is being assisted by his daughter, Lilian. Frederick Norman is working as a motor mechanic and Reginald Percival is an errand boy.[8] On the 1939 Register, the couple are still living at the same address where Frederick is an assurance agent.[9]
Frederick William Manners died, aged 82 years, in 1952.[10]
