Obituary: Harold was April 11, 1915 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Frank and Ella (Lorch) Manthey. He grew up and attended school in Milwaukee. On June 20, 1941 he married Mildred Ostern in Milwaukee. They lived in several places including St. Louis, Memphis, Shreveport, Louisiana, and Houston and Galveston, Texas where he was the head meat buyer for the Weingarten Grocery stores. They moved to Mabel in 1993. Mildred passed away on October 14, 2006. He was a member of the Mabel First Lutheran Church in Mabel. Harold passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 at the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel, Minnesota at the age of 95. Harold is survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred and a sister Florence Jansen.
