Father John Mapp (I) b. c 1625, d. Feb 1671 Mother Mary (-----) b. c 1630 John was born in February 1667 at Northampton Co, VA. He evidently turned 21 in Feb 1687/8, puting his birth at Feb 1667/8.. John was named as an heir on 7 March 1681 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that William Tipshold, wife Mary, named Bartholomew Mapp, John Mapp and Elizabeth Mapp in his will..2 On 28 Feb 1687/8 the court was petitioned by John Mapp, with consent of his mother, and it was the judgment of the court that he is at age to enjoy the benefits of his labour and also to receive such estate as she shall make justly appear to belong to him. (NOTE: He was evidently now age 21.) On this same day John Mapp petitioned the court for a hand mill and what belongs to it to be delivered by his mother, it appearing by her acknowledgment and the attestation of Capt. Stringer that he heard Thomas Collins in his lifetime declare that the said mill was given him by his deceased father John Mapp. (NOTE: This may imply that Thomas Collins was the husband of John's sister Ann Mapp.).3 John witnessed a will on 16 September 1691 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that John (an unknown value) Map & Benjamin Nottingham wintessed the will of Charles Price, who also named friends John Mapp and Benjamin Nottingham to oversee his wife Mary as extrx.

.4 John was living in 1692 at Northampton Co, VA. It was in this year that John Mapp was living in Old Town Neck on the southside of Mattawaman Creek. He owned part of the land where he lived and part was leased. In 1712 he bought the leased land..5 On 28 Nov 1692 John and Bartholomew Mapp were the securities on the administration of the estate... He signed his will John (M) Mapp, with his "M" mark..18,11 John died in November 1725 at age 58.18 John's will was probated on 14 December 1725 at Northampton Co, VA.18 Family Esther Matthews b. c 1675, d. Jan 1733 Marriage* He married Esther Matthews, daughter of Walter Matthews and Sarah Custis (Custis?), circa 1695. According to Spencer Wise, one of their descendants, they lived in Wilsonia Neck, N'hamp Co, VA..9 Children John Mapp (III)+ b. c 1696, d. Mar 1737 Samuel Mapp+ b. c 1698, d.
