William passed away on 10 November 1957 in New Zealand. [6] He is buried at Ōamaru Old Cemetery in Ōamaru, Waitaki District, Otago, New Zealand. The gravestone inscription reads: "Resting In loving memory of dear Renz beloved husband of Myrtle Martin who departed this life so suddenly on 10th Nov. 1957 and his beloved wife Myrtle Christina died 20th Dec 1983. To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die."[7]
