Biography

William Martindale's exact birth date, death date, and locations of both are unknown. (Still researching this).

What is known is that he was married to Lydia Gray. There are several Rootsweb family indexes that list Lydia as having the last name of "Gray" before she married William and that she was born in Little Compton, Newport, Rhode Island in 1732 or 1733. They also list William and Lydia as marrying on 1 Aug 1754 in Little Compton, Rhode Island.

Records do indicate that they had several children: Hannah, Susannah, Desire, Lydia and a few others all around the mid 1750s into the early 1760s in the state of Rhode Island, mostly the county of Bristol.
