William was born about 1767. His places of birth and death and burial are uncertain, but he was a practicing physician in Torrington, Litchfield, Connecticut, during his lifetime. He was the husband of Eunice (Bird) Mather (1769-1852) according to the headstone of his wife, Eunice (Bird) Mather (1769-1852).(See her profile for photo of headstone.)
His marriage to Eunice produced two children: Minerva and William. He is assumed to have died in or before 1850, at which time Eunice appears in the census without him.[1]
