Hi Karen,

As these cemeteries were not in Council ownership at the time, the only records we have are Memorial Inscriptions. Therefore, if there is no memorial on their lair, there is no record of their burial. I have looked in Dores Cemetery, to no avail. I have also checked Tomnahurich,Chapel Yard, Greyfriars and the Old High Church, although again thereare no records which match. I presume they may be buried in Dores as they lived there and have no memorial.

Dear David,�I have been researching the Gordons (Tain, Scotland) and the Mathiesons/Mathesons (Gairloch, Scotland). �A Gordon (David) married a Matheson (Isabella) in Glasgow.�I have just returned from a trip up past Tain to Dingwall and Dornoch. Next visit I want to actually visit Tain, Nigg and Edderton. All three towns are in my research.�I haven't come across an Angus but perhaps he was a brother or relative of the Roderick that I am looking for. Searched 1871 census and found 2 possible John Fraser'sLIving at Murnich, Boleskine.Page 6 No 31 Boleskine1. John Fraser, aged 12 , Servant, UM, born Boleskine, working for Ewen Fraser, Head, 39, Farmer of 67 acres , 30 of arable land, and Jessie Fraser, 30, his wife. Their children are William 4, Mary 2, Margaret 1, Duncan 7 mnths. All born Boleskine except Catherine Fraser born Alness, Servant , 18, UM

and 2.Living at Farraline Shephards House,John Fraser, 14, scholar, son to John Fraser aged 49 and Grace Fraser 48. Both born Dores, children born Boleskine.NOT him!

I have the poor law records for Catherine Matheson.
