Ellen was born before 1873. She was the daughter of Thomas Maude and Emily Brown.

Ellen's marriage to Charles John Sloman was registered in 1898 in New Zealand.^[1] Her Marriage to Charles Solman was reported in the Lyttelton Times on 1 December 1898 in Canterbury, New Zealand. SLOMAN—MAUDE,—Nov. 30, 1898, at St Mary’s Church, Addington, by the Rev W. S. Bean, assisted by the Rev E. A. Scott, J Charles John Sloman to Ellen Cordelia, third daughter of Thomas William Maude, of Christchurch.^[2]

Ellen died on 19 October 1942 and was buried in Waimairi Cemetery, Burnside, Christchurch City, Canterbury, New Zealand.^[3]
