Biography

From page 52 of the book Rev John Mayo and his Descendants^[1] John Mayo ( John3, John2, John1) was born on December 15, 1652 in Eastham, Plymouth Colony. Plymouth Colony did not have counties until 1685, and would become part of Massachusetts in 1691.

NOTE: This is not the John Mayo who married Hannah Freeman.^[2]

Research Notes

There is no further mention of this John Mayo in the book Rev John Mayo and his Descendants; however, sources for his father Lt. John Mayo show him as marrying Hannah Freeman April 14, 1861. The book lists the spouse of Hanna Freeman as John Mayo son of Capt. Samuel Mayo and Thomasin Lumpkin, born in 1656.
