The Cherokee Advocate newspaper article on Feb.12, 1886 , the next to the last column ,reports Mrs Katie Terrell, the mother of Jackson W Ellis, had died at the home of her son the Thursday before.

Widowed Catherine McCammon Ellis remarried about 1875 to William Terrell. Her husband Edward "Ned" Ellis died abt 1862 in the civil war. In the family tree for William Terrell it gives her death as Feb 2, 1886 in Tahlequah OK

Her last name was mis-quoted in two ref books as Mc Kennon. Her son Jackson w Ellis has gave her and her parents names on his Dawes packet and the enrollment papers to eastern tribe allotment.
