Ellen McCann who born about Jul 1841 (1900 census) in Maryland (daughter Alice's death record and 1910 census) or Virginia (1870 census) or Pennsylvania (1880 and 1900 census). She was married to Robert Hull (per census records and the birth and death records of her children).

In 1870, Robert R. Hull and wife Ellen resided in Highland County, Virginia with children Alice G (age 4), Frances C (age 2), Mary O (age 1).^[1]

In 1880, widow Ellen Hull resided with son Frank and daughter Roberta in Weston, Lewis County, West Virginia.^[2]

In 1900 and 1910, Ellen resided with son Frank and daughter Roberta in Mount Savage, Allegany County, Maryland.^[3][4]

Notes and Clues

The 1880, 1900 and 1910 census all state that both of Ellen's parents were born in Ireland.

The 1900 and 1910 census both stated that Ellen Hull had been the mother of five children and four were still living. The are Virginia birth records for daughters Alice Gertrude and Mary O and son Frank C. Her daughter Roberta may have been born after the death of Robert Hull.
