In 1901 Mary was the youngest remaining child living with her widowed mother Madgy McCole, helping her with the farm in Bunnawack - along with three other siblings.[2]See 1901 Census, below.
Mary McCole married John Boyle[3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
on 03 Jan 1904[4] at the Catholic Church of St Peter's in Dungloe,[4] County Donegal. He was the son of Charles Boyle.[4]
John was a farmer[3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
and the family lived across the lake from Bunawack in the townland of Loughanure (recorded there in 1904,[4] 1906,[5] 1907,[6] 1909,[7] 1910,[8] 1911,[3][9] and 1915[10]).
Per Irish tradition, their first child was named Charles after John's father.[5] See Family, below.
The 1911 census records John, 38, and Mary, 30, on the farm in Loughanure with three children aged 1 to 4, and John's brother Patrick.[3] See 1911 Census, below.
Mary became ill in 1961 and died at home in Loughanure on 27 Oct 1962 after an illness of 15 months.[11]
Her death was registered by her daughter Mary Boyle.[11]
