Page 169 (in will book?) - 12th April, 1794 (will written) James McCune's will - to eldest sister Rachel Bell; to sister Ann; to eldest brother John McCune; to brother Samuel; to brother Wm McCune; to brother Archibald; to sister's daughter Mary Beele; to brother William's son James A McCune, tract on Tennessee River; to sister Elizabeth's son, Alexander M Henry, tract on Tennessee River. Executors brothers Samuel and Archibald. Teste: John Guthray, David McClure, John Trimble. Proved on 16th June, 1795 by Guthrey and McClure. Executor qualified.

I tested at 23&Me and also at MyHeritage. The issue with the McCunes is that they morph into all sorts of other names: McKown, McCown, McCoun, MacCoon, McEwan, etc. The good news is that I'm seeing a lot of DNA relations that fall into two main groups. I'm still investigating. Frankly, it's like pulling teeth. Paul
