Sarah (McCurry) Abney is a Virginian.

Sarah D. McCurry was born in Virginia to William Wilson and Virginia "Jennie" McCurry.[1][2][3]

She married John F. Abney[1][4] and the couple had the following known children:

  1. Reba Abney[1]
  2. Betty Abney[1]
  3. William Abney[1]

Sarah died 16 Nov 1984 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick County, Maryland[1]

KNOXVILLE: Sarah D. Abney, 74, of Knoxville, died Friday at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born in Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Virginia McCurry. Surviving are her husband, John F. Abney; two daughters, Reba Johnson of Little Orleans and Betty Guy of Mount Airy; a son, William Abney of Beltsville; five stepchildren, Louis Rank of Annapolis, Joy Coggino of Glen Burnie, Marie Dixon or Oregon, Robbin Oxford of Nevada and Morgan Abney of Texas; four brothers, Omer R. McCurry of Knoxville, Albert McCurry of Gaithersburg, Clarence McCurry of Gettysburg and Manuel McCurry of Virginia, two sisters, Roxie Cope and Lil Wolfe both of Virginia; and four grandchildren. The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Glenwood Baptist Church in Glenwood with the Rev. William Phebus, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at the Haight Funeral Home, Sykesville, today from 7 to 9p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9p.m.[1] and is buried in Glenwood Baptist Church Cemetery, Glenwood, Howard County, Maryland.[1][4]
