Alexander Ferrier McDonald was born on 27 May 1890 in Hallett, South Australia, Australia [1], the son of Charles McDonald and Elizabeth Neil and the brother of Jeannette Myrtle (McDonald) Tiver, Catherine Ada Ada (McDonald) Gray, David Charles McDonald, Alan Marcus McDonald, Elizabeth Maud (McDonald) Goldney, John Neil McDonald, Hector Milton McDonald and Francis Hamilton McDonald.
He married Bertha Helena Honan on 9 February 1916 in Hallett, South Australia, Australia [2] and they were the parents of Marjorie Phyllis McDonald, Eunice Roberta McDonald, Rhonda Eunice McDonald, Heather Jean McDonald and Margaret Jeanette McDonald.
Alexander died on 2 January 1967 at Mytle Bank, South Australia, Australia [3] and he was cremated & his remains interred at the Centennial Park Cemetery, Pasadena, South Australia, Australia [4].
