Biography

Ann's birthdate is a guess based on her marriage date, and a likely death record for Millford, County Donegal, Ireland where they lived.^[1] As there is no census record in Ireland for 1871 we cannot be sure where Ann McElhenny wife of John McNutt was born, and as a result of that, who her parents are, although we know the name of her father from the marriage record.

On Jan 8, 1863 Ann Jane , father William McElhenny, married John McNutt in Rosnakill, County Donegal, ^[2] Ann and John married at the Rosnakill Church, Clondavaddock witnessed by John McCoach and Andrew McNutt. ^[3]

Rosnakill and Milford are on the Fanad Peninsula, Rosnakill at the top of Broad Water/Mulroy Bay, an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean, and Millford is about 8 miles away at the bottom.

Ann Jane and John McNutt had three children: Ann, Eliza and and Robert John, born in Millford, County Donegal.

Ann Jane McNutt, Widow, died in 1879 aged 34. William McElhinney of Leat was the informant of her death. ^[4]
