On 26 Sept 1922 he married Adeline F. Paty (1898–1970) ^[2] They were the parents of Donald Vernon McEvoy (1922–1944) who went Missing in Action during World War II.

Francis passed away on January 15, 1960 (aged 63) in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA. ^[3]
