Biography
Amelia "Emily" McGinnis, the daughter of Colonel John McGinnis, was from Pennsylvania, born in around 1806 in Chester County. In 1829 she married Edmund Maginness in Carlisle. They would have three children:
Anna Martha (Maginness) Scribner (1830-1893)
Edmund Ayres Maginness (1832–1905)
Edward Maginness (1832– )
Emily died on September 26, 1832, possibly after giving birth to twin sons on August 24, 1832. She was said to be 26 years of age at the time of her death.
NOTE: Edmund was involved in several real estate transactions in Chester County, Pennsylvania, from 1831 to 1839. The first is in 1831 and has no listing concerning a wife. A wife's name doesn't appear on four 1832 transactions either. Leah (Solomon) appears as his wife in the 1836 and 1839 transactions.
