Biography

Alice was born in Iowa County, Wisconsin in 1867. She was the oldest of thirteen children born to James McGinnity and Catherine Carroll. While attending St. Joseph's Academy in Janesville, Wisconsin she decided to devote her life to religious duties and entered the convent of Mercy on April 19, 1887. On April 1, 1907 she was sent to be General Manager of Mercy Hospital in Janesville, Wisconsin. She ran the hospital for 16 years until she passed away in Janesville in 1923. She is buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Janesville.
