No Migration: Jesse was born, raised, married, and settled on the McIntire Family Farm, in Berlin Township, Knox County, Ohio. It is there he raised his family and lived his life with his wife, Amanda. It was only after Amanda’s death, his retirement, and the sale of the farm, that Jesse left Knox County. Jesse spent the remainder of his life (DEC 1950 – FEB 1957) living with his various children, but never establishing any permanent residence anywhere else.

Education: According to his youngest daughter, Maxine Isett, he possessed likely and 8th grade education, as that was normal for those times.

Occupation: Farmer, the 2nd generation owner of the McIntire Family Farm. Jesse purchased the farm from the estate of his mother, Martha Alice Adams-McIntire following her death in 1930. Jesse built and expanded the farm under his stewardship. Jesse’s wife, Amanda, died in JAN 1949 and Jesse continued farming for just under two more years before retiring and selling the farm to Harold Brubaker in DEC 1950.
According to Maxine McIntire-Isett, Jesse raised Horses, Cows (for milk and beef), Pigs, Chickens (for eggs and pork) and he grew corn, wheat, oats, and hay. The farm was also home to farm dogs and barn cats. The family also tended a large garden.
Married: At age 32 to Amanda Mae Koontz (age 27); 17 MAR 1909; Likely at Newville, Richland County, Ohio as that is where she was from. Note: Newville is now a defunct town, under what is currently Pleasant Hill Lake.
Widowed: From Amanda May Koontz after 39 years of marriage on 10 JAN 1949 (age 71).
