Arrived on board the "Spray" from Nova Scotia to Waipu New Zealand with his parents, Donald and Arabella who originated from Clachtoll Scotland

At 3 o'clock at the house of Rev. Norman Mcleod, South Rd, Waipu. Murdoch and his wife were first cousins.^[3]
