Purlie was born Feb. 1, 1904 in Monroe County, Alabama. He worked on the family farm until he moved to the Pork Community when he was 18 years old. He married Miss Minnie Lee Smith March 29, 1924 and reared his 6 children there while working as a farmer. He died in a Birmingham hospital on Jan. 16, 1949. His interment is at Jack Springs Cemetery in McCullough, Alabama.

P. H. McKinley Passes on Jan. 16
Mr. P. H. McKinley, a well known citizen of the Atmore vicinity, was born in Monroe County Feb. 1, 1904 and died Jan. 16, 1949. He died in a Birmingham hospital. He moved to the Pork Community when he was 18 years old. He married Miss Minnie Lee Smith March 29, 1924 and reared his family here.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. L. J. Watson of Atmore. Services were held and interment was in Jack Springs Cemetery of McCullough, Ala.
Pallbearers were Murry Roberts, Aubry D. Mason, Edward Marshall, E. J. Chavers, Sam Ashcraft and Harvy Ashcraft.
Mr. McKinley is survived by his wife Mrs. Minnie L. McKinley, two sons Tralve of Atmore and Frank J. of Mobile. Four daughters Mrs. Eunice Boyett of Moulton, Ala., Mrs. Voncile Sellers of Mobile; Evelyn and Helen McKinley one grandchild and other relatives.
Unsure if the attached 1910 census is for this Purlie, since the census lists that Pearlie as being female. Need to do additional research into this family tree.
