Biography

John was born 26 July 1907 at Lisdoo, Kilskeery. He was the son of Cornelius McNabb and Elizabeth McDonnell. ^[1]

He lived on Main Street, Trillick. ^[2] (Not the same person as Johnny McNabb (abt.1894-1959) also of Main Street, Trillick).

He passed away 8 January 1990 age 82 at the home of his daughter Mrs. William McGurran , Carran West. The funeral was to St. Macartan's church. Surviving kin included a son Neil, five daughters Maeve, Dolores, Denise, Colette and Teresita; and siblings Paddy (Derry), Con (Dromore), Mrs. Maggie McCarron (Irvinestown), Mrs. Eileen Power (Lurgan) and Sr. Augustus Mary (Birmingham). ^[2]

Matched obituary to birth reg because: age is exactly correct; and list of siblings in the obituary roughly seems to match the known list of siblings here. Further research coming to verify the siblings.

There is a townland "Carran West" in Co. Fermanagh but it's a long way away -- I am guessing "Carran West" in the obituary might actually refer to a western portion of Carran, Kilskeery?

The obituary says he was buried at St. Macartan, however his wife was buried at Magheralough . Her headstone does have his name on it.
