Clement John McNair was born on 11 January 1915. He was the son of Arnold McNair and Marjorie Bailhache. His birth was registered in Cambridge in the first quarter of 1915.[1]
Clement John McNair was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Royal Regiment of Artillery on 7 June 1941.[2]
John married Vera Frances Faithfull, daughter of Theodore James Faithfull, on 16 November 1941. Their marriage was registered in Droxford, Hampshire in the fourth quarter of 1941.[3]
Capt. (temp.) C. J. McNair of the Royal Regiment of Artillery was Mentioned in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in Italy on 29 November 1945.[4]
John succeeded as the 2nd Baron McNair, of Gleniffer, county Renfrew upon the death of his father on 22 May 1975.
John died on 7 August 1989. His death was registered in Portsmouth, Hampshire in November 1989.[5]
